Story

The first born of five sisters, Yvonne Kisne, lived a simple life, where her mother taught her conjury, which she took to almost immediately, mastering it within a year of study. A few years later, when she was deemed old enough to understand the implications of white magic, she became recognized as a fully fledged white mage. In between her studies, she was often left to care for her sisters as if they were her own children whilst her mother worked to better their tribe.
For a while she was content with this simplistic lifestyle, but as she grew into adulthood, she yearned for something more than tribal life. With a letter stating she was leaving, Yvonne left ‘The Forest’ she called home, shedding her name and taking up a new one. Sunako Mori. It wasn’t long upon arriving in Eorzea, that she was ridiculed and not taken seriously by anyone, unable to find work due to this, that she donned helmets, hoods, anything to hide her ears to make her seem more Hyur or Elezen-like, which eventually left her ears scarred and permanently missing some tufts of fur.
It wasn’t long after that Sunako found herself some mercenary work, starting simple with escorting a caravan, but quickly word spread of her capabilities as a white mage, as she took on more and more dangerous jobs, even going so far as to be hired in the Dragonsong War and the war for Bozja. On one fateful trip on what was supposed to be an easy job escorting a caravan smuggling refugees somewhere safe, the mercenary group she was with got ambushed, and even her skills in healing couldn’t save everyone as they had to retreat. It was there, catching their breath in some nearby ruins amongst the glittering white snow of Corethas, that a man approached her and her group, asked them what they would give to protect and save the ones they cared for. Not one of them answered, save for Sunako, who said, ‘Anything’. In those long hours of night, not knowing if their charge was safe or not, that the man taught her how to become a dark knight, before seemingly melting away into the sunrise’s shadows. Come dawn, she would charge into the ambushers, still rummaging around their caravan, and took them down, somehow keeping all of the refugees safe.
After this incident, Sunako decided she needed to do more steady gigs, eventually working at several popular venues before settling on a few, and while she still goes out to do mercenary work, those are few and far between, where she picked up several other skills, adding to her repertoire. Soon she fell in love and married an Auri man before divorcing him after a little over a year of marriage. A decision she regrets and wishes she can go back and undo that decision. Now she finds herself free once more, a huge burden off her shoulders, where she enjoys a comfortable life, where she doesn’t need to work, but she chooses too.

The Face Behind the Character

Hi! I'm Cameron and my pronouns are they/he. I've been playing XIV since a month after 5.0. I've been playing games for almost as long as I've been alive, starting off just sitting in my mother's lap while she played Pokémon, to messing with the joystick of my uncle's flight simulator, to building my own pc for gaming. Whilst I play nearly every genre of games, I have a strong preference RPGs of all types and Roguelikes. I stream on Twitch and I post my vods on my YouTube.
